Frequently Asked Questions

  • “JOVIA” was created to convey a sense of joy, health, thriving, and vibrancy. The word “via” within JOVIA means “path,” representing your journey toward healing and wellness with us.

  • Hand therapy is a specialized form of rehabilitation focused on treating conditions affecting the hands, wrists, and upper limbs. It involves therapeutic exercises, manual therapy, and custom splinting to improve function, reduce pain, and promote healing.

  • We treat a variety of conditions including carpal tunnel syndrome, tendonitis, fractures, arthritis, post-surgical rehab, repetitive strain injuries, and nerve entrapments.

  • Ergonomics is the science of designing work environments and tasks to fit the capabilities and limitations of the human body. Our ergonomic assessments help prevent injury and improve comfort in your daily activities.

  • Occupational therapy (OT) helps people return to meaningful daily activities after injury or illness. While physical therapy focuses on general mobility, OT emphasizes function—like using your hands, returning to work, or adapting tasks to fit your needs.

OTs are uniquely qualified to provide both hand therapy and ergonomic services, combining expertise in anatomy, activity analysis, and environment to restore function and prevent injury where it matters most—your daily life.

  • Yes, we accept insurance. However, we are currently in-network with certain PPO insurance plans only. If you have questions about your specific coverage, please contact us at (310) 896-5134 and we’ll be happy to help.

*Insurance not accepted for Telehealth and ergonomic services.

  • Currently, many insurance plans do not cover Telehealth visits or ergonomic assessments because these services are considered preventive or consultative rather than direct medical treatment. At JOVIA, we offer these valuable services on a private pay basis to provide flexible care options that fit your needs.
