About J. Michael Kwok

J. Michael Kwok, aka Mike Kwok, is a Native Born Angelino of Chinese-American Descent and a Born Again Christian.

He has been passionate about photography ever since he got his first Kodak Instamatic in elementary school.  A retired elementary school teacher and administrator, he fills his time taking pictures of almost anything from landscapes, cityscapes, birds, animals, events, weddings, portraits and astrophotography.

Mike enjoys traveling and loves meeting people and learning about their culture and what makes the country unique.

Mike is married to his wife Nancee and has three children and four grandchildren.


This picture was taken on the eastern shores on the island of Oahu at the Makapu‘u Vista Point.  There is a trailhead that also leads to the Makapu'u Lighthouse.  The vista looks north towards two bird sanctuaries, the larger Manana Island and Kāohikaipu Islet and Waimanalo Beach.
